Sensory Seekers is a group fitness experience encompassing natural movement principles, functional fitness to promote proficiency in ADL's (activities of daily living), and social/emotional learning skills within nature settings such as state parks. We believe that social and emotional learning begins with a healthy body, and mind. With these, you can begin to learn how to self-regulate, create meaningful relationships with others, and increase self-esteem.

Sensory Seekers Classes include:
-
Physical fitness to strengthen and calm the body
-
Social/Emotional learning to self-regulate emotions, increase self esteem, and forge positive healthy relationships with others
-
Natural sensory activities to activate the PNS (Parasympathetic Nervous System)
-
Healthy lifestyle education to heal the mind and body

All of these components help to foster a healthy view of self, build strong bodies to strengthen emotional regulation, and nurture the ability to create positive relationships with others.
We cannot learn how to self-regulate and create healthy relationships with others, until we have a healthy relationship with ourselves. This relationship MUST include physical, mental, and emotional health.
These are the main goals of our Sensory Seekers classes.
Why do we need neurodiversity-informed adaptive fitness?
We all deserve to move freely!
Neurodivergent children and those with autism may struggle to find active hobbies due to the need for scalable participation at school (which is severely lacking), heightened social anxiety due to being misunderstood and un-accommodated, executive functioning challenges, or lack of fostered physical skills to engage with their peers and complete "expected" tasks. This, on top of the impatience and misunderstanding of autism and neurodiversity among teachers and adults in their school setting, as well as a severe lack of administrative support to spread acceptance and increase accommodations, is where adaptive fitness comes in. We like to focus on your child's STRENGTHS, and foster their love of movement, NOT hinder it and force compliance. My goal is to help your child grow confidence, independence, social, and gross/fine motor skills through exploring different fun exercises, the concept of teamwork, competition and more! Through group sessions, my programs are created to spark a sense of accomplishment, discover activities that bring joy to your child, and mark the beginning of a more active lifestyle and healthy mindset.
Although we are primarily focused on providing a space for neurodivergent children, ALL ABILITIES ARE WELCOME!
